Common chemicals that can mess with your hormones and increase your chances of breast cancer.



Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) are natural or synthetic substances found in the air, soil and water and can find their way into our homes and our food supply. One of the features of an EDC is that it can mimic your natural hormones and lead to imbalance and disease when over-consumed, over time.

It's not an exhaustive list, but it will help you to get started on reading the labels of your packaged foods, cosmetics, household products and cleaning supplies so you can make better, healthier choices.

Well, a really great resource from the Environmental Working Group (EWG), you may be familiar with them through their Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen guide, is a list of 'better and worse' household products. You can search the items you have at home and see how they rate. They list greener, more environmental and human friendly products and have a cool section on how to decode labels.
